Description:

FOUND IMAGE ATC, US - OUTDOOR

For this swap, you will send ONE (1) found image ATC (Artist Trading Card) to ONE (1) Partner. On the back side of the ATC, put the swap name and your user name. You can also give it a title and a little note about the image. It should be sent in an envelope. Let’s make this second one an OUTDOOR theme. This can be any outdoor scene or item that is normally found or used outdoors.

Find a ATC sized image that you think your Partner will like, glue it to a blank ATC card or other suitable backing and send it off in an envelope. I usually include a note about the image and where I found it. It should be a picture you “found” in a magazine, book, etc. and not a photo you took or a drawing or painting you did. I find most of the images I use in books that were taken out of circulation from the library, because they were badly damaged. I have also used flyers, programs, and magazines.

Be careful of glossy pages from magazines. Some glues do not adhere well to them. I gently ‘de-gloss’ the backs of those images by lightly going over them with very fine (800) grit sandpaper. I then use a multi-purpose spray adhesive to attach it to the card. I let them set for a couple days until the adhesive is dry enough that it no longer smells before mailing them. I have made the Signup and Send By dates far enough apart to allow for drying time.

I am calling this a Type 3 swap, not because there is a lot of construction involved but considerable time can be expended in finding a good image to satisfy the swap requirements and your Partner’s likes.

Unrated new users are welcome to try their hand.
