Hi, welcome to the swap! I've been getting really into cross stitch lately and have really enjoyed looking online at subversive cross stitch ideas. I thought it'd be fun to organise a swap around the theme.

We'll send a small unframed embroidery sampler with an intersectional feminist slogan or image. You can use a bought pattern or make your own. It can be cross stitch or any other kind of embroidery. Don't forget to include a note to say "hi" and include the swap name and your username.

Here's a list of ideas, but feel free to come up with your own:

  • "Smash the patriarchy"

  • "Cats against cat calls"

  • "Support your sisters not just your cisters"

  • "A woman's place is in the revolution"

  • "Black lives matter"

  • "Feminist killjoy"

  • "Riots not diets"

If you'd enjoy receiving something sweary, add a note in the comments, although bear in mind your partner might not be comfortable doing that!

@chocolatebananacake this is a great idea! I would consider putting the rating requirement up because it is a swap that will take some time and effort to make and it would be very sad if someone is flaked on.

Ps. I don't mind swear-y but I don't mind non-sweary either.

@Lyndall I'm keeping an eye on who signs up and will remove anyone with unexplained low ratings. I don't want anyone to miss out because they were unfairly rated in the past.

@Hell0Z0mbie and @mariewilliams810 Any kind of embroidery is fine, it doesn't have to be cross stitch. If you were to host your own feminist themed swap, I'd definitely want to join!

Ahh! I just joined swapbot and have no ratings yet but would really really love to join this one! Just two days ago I picked up a new embroidery hoop and embroidery floss!! If there is any way I could join I would be so grateful !! I will NOT flake !!
